DAWSON CREEK, B.C. — Peace River South MLA Mike Bernier has announced that the South Peace Emergency Response Team will benefit from a $60,000 grant from the B.C. Government’s Community Gaming Grant program.
“Public safety is a top priority for our government, and search and rescue organizations work under challenging circumstances to protect others,” Peace River South MLA Mike Bernier said.
“This funding will help the South Peace Emergency Response Team continue to provide search and rescue services in our region.”
The grant was awarded under the public safety category of the Community Gaming Grant program, which allows non-profit organizations to apply for provincial gaming revenues from the Ministry of Community, Sport and Cultural Development.
‘Gaming grants‘ are also awarded for those in the categories of human and social services, sports, arts and culture and environment.
