UPDATE:  As of 8:15 a.m. – A caller to Moose FM says the detour is now blocked after a chip truck is stuck.  Please avoid the area if at all possible until this incident and the original collision are cleared.


UPDATE:  As of 7 a.m. – The Highway remains closed in both directions 11 km south of Taylor because of Vehicle Incident. Detour in place for light vehicles via road 226 , 230, and 243. Estimated time of opening between 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.

ORIGINAL STORY:  The Alaska Highway is closed 11km south of Taylor.  According to DriveBC.ca, the highway is closed because of a vehicle incident.

There is a detour in place for small traffic via the 226 road.

There is no estimate on when the highway will be open again.

The next update is expected at 7 a.m. local time.
