RCMP arrest male after robbery of Fort St. John Shell station

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – A 22 year-old male has been charged following a robbery at the Shell gas station in Fort St. John.

Ryan Olofson from Fort St. John has been charged with robbery and firearms offences following the alleged robbery on February 7, 2016.

The RCMP were called to the Shell gas station on 100 street at 2:25 a.m.  The caller stated a male walked into the store brandishing a handgun and demanded money and cigarettes.  The male then fled on foot toward the Fort St. John Curling Club.

General Duty RCMP members and Police dog services attended and arrested a suspect in the area of 86 street.  The firearm was later recovered near the area of the arrest.

Olofson has been released on bail pending his next court appearance on March 9, 2016.

The RCMP are still requesting that anyone who was in that area during the alleged robbery to contact the detachment.
