FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — Alberta Premier Rachel Notley didn’t secure any firm commitments from the federal Liberal government during the weekend, but she does says she’s thankful she got a chance to plead her case.

Notley met privately Sunday night with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau at a federal cabinet retreat in Alberta’s Kananaskis country, west of Calgary.

Their meeting followed by just days a speech with the same theme by former Prime Minister Brian Mulroney, delivered to the Quebec branch of the Canadian Bar Association in Montreal.

Mulroney followed that with a weekend CTV News interview, in which he was asked which of the current pipeline proposals now on the table makes the most sense to him.

He added, “We cannot allow our regulatory regime to be gamed by those who simply want to disrupt any form of development.”
