FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — Following a rally of grand proportions that involved a truck convoy, coverage from a helicopter and local figures passionately speaking to the need for LNG in B.C., FSJ for LNG will be hosting another rally later this month.
This rally, slated to take place on April 23 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., will gather pro-LNG residents at Centennial Park’s old visitor centre, where they can either bring their own signs or pick one up at the rally.
Following the last rally will be a challenging feat. But its about keeping the conversation going, says one of the organizers.
“The response was noted nationally. That was our point, to be seen nationally,” said Lani Belcher. “Prior to that, we had only had local coverage.”
Belcher said that there may be local figures attending this one, but that its too early to confirm who. At the last rally, MP Bob Zimmer, MLA Pat Pimm, Mayor Lori Ackerman, and B.C. Senator Richard Neufeld were just some of the speakers.
FSJ for LNG put an emphasis on inviting people who weren’t able to attend the last rally to come and show their support.
