FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – The Fort St. John Women’s Resource Society says that tough economic times means the centre is in greater need of donations, especially food donations.
Society spokesperson Phallon Stoutenburg says that numbers of people using the services of the society’s poverty outreach store have increased by approximately 25%. Stoutenburg says that though donations of clothing and other goods have actually increased in recent months, the number of food donations to the store have dropped off substantially.
Though the society says that all donations are welcome, non-perishable food donations are best at this time as the society can get them out to those most in need in the shortest time span.
