NLC’s ECEC Program Adds Classroom Courses

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – Northern Lights College’s Early Childhood Education and Care Diploma program is going to be offered in a face-to-face classroom environment for the first time in 15 years.

ECEC Program Chair and Instructor Cindy Page noted that this new form of instruction offers even greater flexibility for the program, which will begin a two-year pilot program starting in September of this year. The program is fully certified through the BC Early Childhood Educaiton Registry. The program was previously only offered online, which it will continue to be in parrellel with the classroom courses.


In a release, NLC said that the program will help meet labour market demand for early childhood educators in northeast B.C., offering local students a chance to fill job vacancies.

Registration is open until July 4, 2016, with first priority given for full-time students. Part-time seats for the Fall 2016 intake may be available on a first-come, first-served basis. For more information, contact the ECEC office, toll-free, at 1-866-463-6652 ex. 6234.
