Armed robbery in Peace River has police looking for suspect

PEACE RIVER, A.B. – Police in Peace River are on the lookout for a suspect after an armed robbery in that community over the weekend.

On June 24th at approximately 11:50 PM, Peace Regional RCMP were called to the Best Western hotel in Peace River. According to police, the suspect entered the hotel’s lobby and confronted two workers with a knife. No one was injured in the incident, and the suspect was unable to obtain anything during the robbery attempt before leaving. The RCMP say that the subject left on foot, and may have fled the area in a vehicle that was parked in the westbound lane of Highway 2 just west of the train overpass. If anyone saw a vehicle in this area, they are asked to contact the Peace Regional RCMP.


The suspect is described as a tall male of unknown descent. He was wearing a black waist-length jacket, light-wash blue jeans, a green hoodie with the hood drawn up, grey mask, and white running shoes.
