FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – The city of Fort St. John is offering rebates to people who buy and plant trees in their yard.
Rebates will be on a first-come, first-serve basis. In 2016 there are a total of 325 rebates available.
Rebates will only be processed at City Hall from May 1st to July 31st during regular business hours. In order to be eligible for the rebate, you must have a City of Fort St. John utility account in your name, a completed rebate form, the original cash register receipt and the tree tag indicating the growing zone 1, 2 or 3.
The rebate is for 50$. If your tree is less than $50, you will be given a rebate for the price you payed.
The rebate will be applied on or before the September bill and any tree or shrub is acceptable under the rebate program provided the growing zone is 1, 2 or 3.
You can also buy the tree from any retailer you wish, even if it is outside of Fort St. John. The tree must be planted at the residence listed on the utility bill.
