Results From The 2016 Fort St. John Triathlon

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – The 17th Annual Fort St. John Triathlon saw 63 participants swim, ride, and run from the North Peace Leisure Pool to as far away as the East side of the North Peace Airport.

The Men’s Duathlon, which consisted of a 3-km run, followed by a 26 km bike race, and ending in another 3 km run, was won by Irvin Tang with a time of 1:05:55.7, Rachel Fell finished first on the Women’s side ahead of Christie Webber, the only other female duathlon participant, in 1:34:55.1.

The closest race was on the short course Triathlon between the Junior and Senior men. Dirk Finkensiep and Jordan Fairlie took first spots in the short course Triathlon with times of  0:44:19.0 and 0:44:24.4. Top female on the short course was Lexie Pomeroy with 0:47:48.4. Patrick Howell and Sandra McDonald were the fastest triathletes on the full course, with times of 1:15:12.5, and 1:32:09.2 respectively. 1:37:02.0 was the time of the fastest relay team, “Sunshine On A Cloudy Day”, which placed ahead of Gym Class Heroes in 2nd, and Didn’t Drown, Didn’t Crash, Didn’t Walk.
