FORT NELSON, B.C. – Environment Canada says that conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing heavy rain today.
A particularly moist and unstable airmass is present over northeastern BC. Thunderstorms are likely throughout the day, but forecasters say that by this afternoon and evening, those storms could be capable of producing torrential rainfall amounts of up to 25 mm in one hour.
Hail is also possible, and heavy downpours could cause flash floods and pooling water on roads.
