CALGARY, A.B. – Inconnu swimmer Skyeler Kerr continued to add feathers to an already well-feathered cap yesterday.
After finishing 2nd in yesterday’s 50 metre backstroke qualifier, Kerr repeated the feat in last night’s final, finishing on the podium with a silver medal. It was an incredibly close race, with Kerr sharing the podium tied for 2nd place with Chris Ruus of the West Vancouver Otters Swim Club. Both Kerr and Ruus finished the race in 26.92 seconds, while gold medal winner Tim Zeng from the Chena Swim Club in North Vancouver finished ahead of both Kerr and Ruus by only 0.96 seconds, with a time of 25.96 seconds.
In the pool today, Kerr and fellow Inconnu teammate Eric Louie will both be competing in the 100 metre breaststroke and 50 metre freestyle events in their respective age groups, while Alex Hedges will also be competing in the 50 metre free.
