Suspicious death in Prince George

PRINCE GEORGE, B.C. – Police are investigating a suspicious death after a body was found in a wooded area off the Massey exit to Highway 97 which is near Pine Center Mall.

Prince George RCMP located the body on July 3rd at around 10:50 am after a report that a man had been assaulted in the area. The City Detachment’s Major Crime Unit and Forensic Identification Section have been called in and will work with the Coroner Service to figure out the cause.


Police say at this time, there is no link to the Highway and there are no concerns about public safety.

No further details have been released, and the man has not been positively identified.

Officers are requesting the public use caution while driving past officers that are working on both the Massey on-ramp to Highway 97 and on Highway 97 Northbound from that ramp.
