UPDATE: Joanne Bighead has been located safe and unharmed by police.

GRANDE PRAIRIE, A.B. – The Grande Prairie RCMP are asking for the public’s assistance to locate a missing 29 year-old woman.

Joanne Christine Bighead was reported missing on July 3rd. She was last in contact with her family in Ontario on Tuesday, June 28th but has not been in touch since.

Bighead is described as First Nation, 5’5″ tall, weighing 200 lbs, with shoulder-length brown hair, and brown eyes. According to a release, the RCMP say that Bighead has a tattoo on her back though they have not released a description of it, and is possibly heading to Grand Cache. There is a general concern for her well being and RCMP would like to locate and speak with her as soon as possible.

Police are asking anyone who knows of Bighead’s whereabouts or has recently been in contact with her to please contact the Grande Prairie RCMP Detachment at 780-830-5701 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
