FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – Five Blizzard Bicycle Club riders took to the forests of Beatton Provincial Park on Sunday for the club’s mountain bike championships.

It was an exciting afternoon of racing on the Beatton Park Trails, where Ben Dawson took the win over Dawit Fayissa by just over a minute on the group’s 4 kilometre loop. After Dawson opened up a lead after lap number one, Fayissa nearly caught up to him close to the halfway mark of lap number 2.

Dawson managed to turn on the jets over the downhill second half of the second lap to take the win in 33:44. Fayissa finished in 34:56, while Robert Sapp and Tyler Brunet arrived a short time later, finishing in 38:45 and 39:56 respectively. Pat Ferris brought up the rear of the pack with a time of 47:06.
