DAWSON CREEK, B.C. – The results are in after an exciting five days of rodeo action at the 94th Annual Dawson Creek Exhibition & Stampede.

After five days of stampede action, Braidy Howes ended up taking first place in the Barrel Racing competition, with a blistering time of 17.949 seconds. Toni Dixon came a close second with a 17.972 on Sunday afternoon with the fastest ride of the day. Callahan Crossley’s 18.015 was good enough for third in the event.

In Bareback, Cole Gardine, Jake Vold, and Kody Lamb all tied for first spot, riding the full 8 seconds to each record scores of 83. Danny Vandenameele took first in the novice bareback, riding to a 77.0 score. Tanner Young came in 2nd with 75.5, one point ahead of Lane Link’s 74.5.

The Saddle Bronc was an incredibly close field this year. Layton Green barely managed to edge out Clay Elliott. Green managed to ride Spanish Pair to a score of 88, while Clay Elliott rode an 87.5.Chuck Schmidt rounded out the top 3 with an 85.5.

Hudson’s Hope’s Ricky Warren ended up placing third in this week’s Novice Saddle Bronc, riding a 74. Kolby Wanchuk ended up as the Novice Saddle Bronc’s top performer, with a 76.5, while Dawson Hay ended up in 2nd spot with a 75.

Scott Schifener was the week’s top bull rider, riding Magic Show to an 87.0. Brock Radford and Wacey Finkbeiner both came close, with score of 85 and 80.5.

Luke Ferber, Matt Howard, Weston Davidson and Justin Maguire all tied for first in Steer Riding, posting scores of 70.0.

Steven Culling from Fort St. John tied for 5th in the Steer Wrestling with Rowdy Hays and Brendan Laye with a time of 47 seconds. Culling finished one second behind 4th place finisher Cody Cassidy, and two seconds back from 3rd place Scott Guenthner. Winners Jessie Heggie and Straws Milan both tied for first with a 42-second time.

Virgil Poffenroth and Logan Bird were the joint winners in the Tie Down Roping with 9.0 second times. Clayton Smith and Kyle Lucas tied in 3rd spot, and were both slower than the winners by only 0.1 seconds.

Klay White and Brett Buss took first position in the Team Roping event. The pair finished in 5.6 seconds.
