Elks Speed Skating Club hosting annual summer camp next week

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – Just as the ice gets put into the oval at the Pomeroy Sports Centre, the Fort St. John Elks Speed Skating Club will be hosting their annual summer ice camp beginning next Monday.

The camp is set to take place August 22nd through to the 26th on both the Olympic-sized ice oval, as well as the short track. Skaters aged 6 and up are eligible to participate in the Elks’ camp, which will give skaters training for the upcoming speed skating season. The camp will culminate in time trials and races on the Friday morning of the camp, and skaters will need to bring adequate protective equipment to participate.


Registration for the camp is still open. Skaters aged 6-8 can sign up for ½ day morning camps at $125 per skater, while the full day for both younger and older skaters is $225.
