CHETWYND, B.C. – Motocross riders from Fort St. John and the rest of the Peace will be headed to Chetwynd this weekend to take part in the final two races of the 2016 racing season.
The Pine Valley raceway just north of Chetwynd will be hosting the races on both Saturday and Sunday. Over 50 riders as young as seven years old are anticipated to hit the 2-kilometre dirt track competing in races sanctioned by the BC Motocross Association on Saturday and the Peace Motocross Association on Sunday.
While the weather forecast isn’t calling for gorgeous sunny skies, organizers say that the moisture in the air makes for a much more pleasant viewing experience for spectators due to a lack of dust and dirt in the air.
Registration for both races begins at 7:00 a.m., with races set to start at 9:30.
