Government resurfacing section of Highway 2 between Dawson Creek and Pouce Coupe

DAWSON CREEK, B.C. – Improvements are coming to the section of Highway 2 between Dawson Creek and Pouce Coupe.

The government will be resurfacing the section to improve the ride for residents that are travelling through the area.

Transportation and Infrastructure Minister Todd Stone says keeping roads safe and maintained is crucial.

“Keeping our province’s highways, bridges and side roads in good condition is the highest priority for our ministry. This work will improve an important connection between Pouce Coupe and Dawson Creek and provide a safer, smoother ride for residents and commercial drivers who travel this stretch of Highway 2.”

The project will see resurfacing of approximately 5 kilometres of Highway 2 between Rolla Road and the CN Rail crossing south of Pouce Coupe, also the first-time paving of Blockline Road. There will also be the removal of two sets of inactive CN Rail tracks that cross the highway at two separate locations.

The work is already underway and is expected to be completed by the end of September.
