Grande Prairie searching for armed robbery suspect

GRANDE PRAIRIE, A.B. – Police in Grande Prairie are asking for the public’s help to identify the suspect in an armed robbery.

On Sunday, August 21st, at approximately 2:50 a.m., the Grande Prairie RCMP received a report of an armed robbery at the Mac’s Convenience store on 84th Avenue. The lone male suspect entered the store welded what is believed to be a knife and demanded cash. The store’s on duty employee was unharmed while the man made off with an undisclosed amount of money, lottery and cigarettes.

The suspect is described as: 40 to 50 years old, with blue eyes, a brown beard, and curly hair, with a scar on his forehead. He was wearing a checkered jacket, a hoodie under his jacket, and khaki pants.
