HALFWAY RIVER, B.C. – The Halfway River Valley Round Up open rodeo is taking place this weekend for the 15th year at the Halfway River First Nation.

The two-day event will feature over one hundred riders participating in a wide range of events, including bull riding, barrel racing, bareback, saddle bronc, steer wrestling, calf roping, and kids wild pony racing. The open rodeo has entry fees ranging from $30 to $60 for each event, and will see over $5,000 in the purse handed out to winners.

There will also be a dance on Saturday night beginning at 9:00 p.m.

The rodeo venue is the Halfway River First Nation, approximately 34 kilometres west of the Alaska Highway at Mile 95 on the 117 Road.
