Inconnu Swim Club head coach Jason Broackman with swimmers Eric Louie, Brittany Welsh, Skyeler Kerr, and Alex Hedges in Calgary at Age Group Nationals

CALGARY, A.B. – Another successful swim meet is over for the Inconnu swim team, after four swimmers from the club were competing at Age Group Nationals in Calgary for the past six days.

It was a big weekend for the quartet of Alex Hedges, Brittany Welsh, Skyeler Kerr, and Eric Louie. Hedges barely missed qualifying for 50m Butterfly, with a 10th place finish in the qualifier. She ended up swimming in the 50m Butterfly swim-off final. Welsh faced some very tough competition in the backstroke pool, finishing 42nd in the 100m backstroke, and 39th in 200m backstroke events.

Louie and Kerr both managed to get onto the podium this past weekend. After finishing four hundredths of a second ahead of Lucas Seto in the prelim, Louie expanded his lead to nearly four tenths of a second to take the gold medal in the 50m Butterfly. Louie also swam to 22nd in the 200m breaststroke. Skyeler Kerr pulled off a pair of podium finishes with a bronze in both the 50m butterfly, and the 100m Backstroke, in which he also set a new club record of 59.09.
