New Domestic Violence Program coming to Fort St. John

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – S.T.O.P. Stop Taking It Out on Your Partner, Domestic Violence Prevention Program.

Community Bridge will be offering the S.T.O.P. Program with the Northern John Howard Society of BC in October 2016.

S.T.O.P. is a group domestic violence prevention program designed for “men who use violence, physical, psychological, sexual, and/or controlling behaviours within their intimate relationships.”

Participants must be willing to acknowledge abusive behaviours in relationships and want to make changes. They welcome self referrals and the S.T.O.P. Program is free of charge.

The program consists of 12 three-hour sessions . The sessions start Monday, October 17th, 2016 at Community Bridge from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm. There is also the possibility that although the sessions are held once a week, they may run a Saturday all day session to help shorten length of the program.
