Prince George RCMP investigate fatal motor vehicle accident

PRINCE GEORGE, B.C. – Police in Prince George are investigating a fatal collision between a tractor trailer and a bicyclist.

At around 9:30 this morning, police received a call that a motor vehicle collision had happened near the intersection of 15th Avenue and Carney Street.

Emergency responders and RCMP attended the scene to find the bicyclist deceased. The tractor trailer was also still on the scene when police arrived. The BC Coroners Service and Commercial Vehicle Safety Enforcement unit were called to help with the investigation.

At this time, police say it appears that the bicyclist was not wearing a helmet.

The intersection of 15th Avenue and Carney street is expected to be closed for hours while police investigate.
