PRINCE GEORGE, B.C. – A man is in custody facing numerous charges following an investigation into a explosive device last week.

On Friday, August 19th, at 10:30 in the morning, Prince George RCMP arrested a 36 year-old man in Cottonwood Island Park for breach of probation and resisting arrest.

When they arrested the man, police found what they believed to be an explosive device. The man was then transported to jail cells while the device remained in the park.

Police closed off the park until they could safely dispose of the device. The BC RCMP’s Explosive Disposal Unit attended the scene. The device was found to be an explosive and it was safely disposed of.

The suspect has remained in custody since his arrest and will likely be facing a number of Criminal Code charges.
