Rodeo and Chuckwagon races kick off at Dawson Creek Fall Fair

DAWSON CREEK, B.C. – The 94th Annual Dawson Creek Exhibition and Stampede’s rodeo and chuckwagon races are set to begin today.

The rodeo events will see amateur and professional riders in competition at the Exhibition Grounds, located next to the Encana Events Centre. The rodeo events begin today at 2:30 p.m., and take place at various times throughout the week.


Both the Western Chuckwagon Association and the World Professional Chuckwagon Association will be sanctioning races at the fair as well. The Western Chuckwagon races take place every afternoon at the fair at 5:30 p.m. beginning today. The races culminate with the $7,500 Dash For Cash which takes place on Sunday at 5:30 p.m. The World Professional Chuckwagon drivers take to the Exhibition Grounds immediately afterwards; every evening at 6:30. Sunday evening will see the world’s top chuckwagon racers competing in a final dash for the $15,000 grand prize.

A list of rodeo and chuckwagon participants was requested from the Dawson Creek Fall Fair, but was not supplied by press time.
