Bo Hedges competing in third Paralympics

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – For the third straight time, the Energetic City will be represented at the Summer Paralympic Games.

Robert ‘Bo’ Hedges will competing as past of the Canadian Men’s Paralympic Basketball team for the third time starting this coming Thursday, when the wheelchair basketball tournament begins at the Carioca Arena. Hedges is a two-time Paralympic medallist, winning a silver medal in Beijing in 2008, and a gold medal at the 2012 Paralympics in London.


Hedges is a team co-captain and veteran of both the Paralympics and the Para Pan Am Games, and will be looking to draft from that experience to help Team Canada get onto the podium for the third straight time.

The Canadian men’s wheelchair basketball team kicks off their tournament on Thursday with a game against Spain, before facing the Netherlands on Friday, Australia on Saturday, Japan on Sunday, and Turkey on Monday to finish off the round robin.
