District of Taylor set to show love for local businesses

TAYLOR, B.C. – The District of Taylor will be showcasing local businesses this coming Sunday for the Love Taylor BC Launch Party.

The showcase is part of the Love Northern BC initiative of Northern Development Initiative Trust. The event, which is being hosted at Lone Wolf Golf Club from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, will have a Farmer’s Market as well as local Love Taylor BC participants showing residents their business. There will also be snacks and prizes.

The District will also be hosting Small Business Bingo at the Taylor Community Hall on Friday, September 16th at 7:00 PM. The prizes will be form local Love Taylor businesses.

District of Taylor Councillor, Betty Ponto, says they encourage locals to see what they have in the community around them.

“Every town has small businesses which are often ‘hidden gems’ that go by word of mouth and don’t always have the exposure they deserve. Love Taylor BC is an exciting opportunity to showcase, nurture and promote these valued community members. We encourage everyone to take a look at what is right in their own community for some diverse local shopping.”

The program registration fee is normally $100, but Mayor and Council feel that it is very significant to buy locally in the District of Taylor, and they will be reducing the fee by 50% per business.

Love Taylor BC is the 34th community to join the Love Northern BC shop local program funded by Northern Development Initiative Trust.
