NEAT collecting yard waste this weekend

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – Those Fort St. John residents that need a place to dispose of their raked leaves, grass clippings, or other yard waste and don’t have a compost pit can rejoice.

The Northern Environmental Action Team will be set up this Saturday at the old site of the Fort St. John Visitor Information Centre next to the North Peace Leisure Pool collecting yard waste. All sod, grass and yard trimmings, leaves, small branches, and old potted plants are able to be recycled.

NEAT says that bringing the yard waste in large brown paper bags is allowed, but not plastic bags or pails as they aren’t recyclable.

The yard waste collection will be happening on Saturday, September 24th from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
