HUDSON’S HOPE, B.C. – That Dam Run is set to take place once again at the W.A.C. Bennett Dam near Hudson’s Hope, and the deadline to register is fast approaching.

Runners will be embarking on either a five kilometre or ten mile footrace that starts at the viewpoint above the right bank of the dam, goes across the dam, and finishes at the dam’s Visitor Centre. According to organiser Bill Lindsay, most participants enter the scenic 10-mile race that sees a variety of running surfaces, and takes runners up the Portage Mountain ski hill, and to the viewpoint overlooking Dinosaur Lake.

100 runners participated in last year’s event. Lindsay says that though the event is growing, due to the logistics involved in bussing participants across the 2-kilometre dam there will be a limit of 150 contestants this year.

75 participants have already registered, and Lindsay added that registration will go either until the 150-person cap has been reached, or until Tuesday, September 6th at 4:00 p.m.
