School District 60 lays out School Enhancement Program for 2016/17

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – At a meeting last night, School District 6o laid out the plan for the School Enhancement Program.

They have listed the projects based on importance and need.

The first project is at North Peace Senior Secondary. They will be doing Heating and Ventilation Upgrades. They say it will reduce cost for heat, lower carbon footprint and upgrade controls. The total cost of the project is expected to be $1,313,562.00


The second project also involves North Peace Secondary. That project involves roof repairs or replacements. The board says it will reduce maintenance costs.

The third project is at Baldonnel Elementary. They are also looking to do Heating and Ventilation upgrades. The cost for this project will be $918,750.00

The fourth project is at Alwin Holland Elementary. They to will be looking for Heating and Ventilation upgrades. The cost for this project will be $1,650,000.00

The fifth project on the priority list belongs to Upper Pine Elementary Junior Secondary School. Again, Heating and Ventilation upgrades are needed there. The cost will be $761,260.00

Also noted is Hudson’s Hope Elementary/Secondary school. They need a new roof system which will cost $520,518.00.

The district will also be looking at Bus Replacement as well as a school replacement program.

The projects are scheduled to be completed on various months such as August 2017, March 2018, and December of this year.
