TNT bringing first annual Jeep poker run to Fort St. John

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – Fort St. John will the site of many Jeep sightings this weekend.

TNT is hosting the first annual poker run and Jeep show this coming Sunday. The action kicks off in the Fort St. John Rona parking lot at 8:30 for registration. The Jeeps will leave at around 9:30, heading west on Highway 29, stopping in Husdon’s Hope before continuing on to Chetwynd, Dawson Creek, Taylor, and returning to Fort St. John. Entrants will be attempting to build the best poker hand as they visit each community’s Visitor Information Centre.

At 2:00 p.m., the Jeeps will return to put on a show’n’shine until 4:00 p.m., when prizes for the best poker hand and best Jeep in the show will be awarded. The poker run itself costs $20.00 per truck, with the proceeds from the event going toward the Child Development Centre.

Organiser Justin Ralph says that with feedback leading up to the event, he’s hoping that 50 or more Jeeps will be competing in the poker run. He adds that though the Jeeps will be sticking to pavement this year, organisers will try to take the poker run off road next year.

Admission to the show’n’shine is free, and open to the public. For more information, call Justin Ralph at: (250) 219-5566.
