FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – The Northeast BC/Yukon Trackers will be playing their first preseason games this coming weekend.

The Trackers will be hosting the Prince George Tier 1 Cougars at the Pomeroy Sports Centre on both Saturday and Sunday, the first weekend of a home-and-home series against the Tier 1 Midget team.

Head coach David Johnston says that the team is excited to finally take to the ice for a game after several weeks of an intense practice schedule. The players have been on the ice at least once every weekday focusing on team concepts under the direction of the new coach. Johnston says that he’s primarily been focusing on concepts based around playing in all three zones these past few weeks, adding that the team began focusing on special teams last night. Johnston says that preseason games are the perfect opportunity to iron out some bumps ahead of their first league game on October 1st in Grande Prairie.
