WONOWON, B.C. – The upcoming 46th Annual Wonowon Gymkhana and Poker Ride that was planned for this upcoming weekend has been cancelled.

Frances Palfy with the Wonowon Horse Club says that last night’s heavy rainfall, in conjunction with all of the rain that has fallen across the Peace in the past few weeks can caused the gymkhana course to become nearly impossible to ride. Though she says that things will have dried up in October, the likelihood of snow covering the ground meant that the club will be cancelling the event this year.

Palfy says that hopefully things will be drier next year for the event to take place.
