UPDATE: As of 8:43 a.m., Drive BC says that the highway has been fully reopened in both directions.

CHETWYND, B.C. – Motorists travelling between Moberly Lake and Chetwynd are having to make major detours this morning after and accident closed the highway just north of Chetwynd.

According to Drive BC, the highway is closed in both directions 2 kilometres north of the intersection of Highways 29 and 97 in Chetwynd.

Drive BC says that the highway is estimated to reopen to traffic by 9:00 a.m., although the last update was at 7:41 a.m.
