Cadotte Lake man charged with second-degree murder

CADOTTE LAKE, A.B. – A 21 year-old Cadotte Lake resident is facing second-degree murder charges after a man was found dead yesterday morning.

Yesterday morning, police received a report of a suspicious death at a residence in Cadotte Lake. Upon arrival, members of the Peace River RCMP Detachment found the body of a man, and secured the scene while members of the Major Crimes Unit – North began an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the man’s death. Investigators were able to determine that the deceased was 26 year-old DeeDee Williams during the course of their investigation, were also able to arrest a suspect yesterday during the early stages of the case.

An autopsy was completed by the Chief Medical Examiner in Edmonton where Williams’ death was confirmed to have been a homicide.

21 year-old Cadotte Lake resident Timothy Williams has been charged with second degree murder, and has been remanded in custody and will make his first appearance in Peace River Provincial Court on Monday, October 17, 2016.
