Grande Prairie RCMP investigating mugging

GRANDE PRAIRIE, A.B. – The Grande Prairie RCMP are investigating a mugging that occurred over the weekend.

On Friday, September 30th at approximately 12:45 p.m., police responded to a report of a robbery in the area of 101 Street and 112 Avenue. A woman was walking down the street when she was approached by an man that demanded she give him her purse and cell phone. The man then grabbed the woman’s purse and assaulted her before fleeing the area on foot toward 104 Street.

The male suspect is described as:

  • Caucasian
  • Between 30 and 45 years old
  • With white, scruffy facial hair

He was wearing a black hoodie and blue jeans. The woman was treated by EMS for minor injuries.
