Historic Canada 150 Mural comes to Fort St. John

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – A mural that will be travelling across Canada to celebrate the 150th Birthday will have a Fort St. John feel to it.

Over a 2 year span, the goal is to create a mural including all provinces and territories, over 80,000 paintings and 150 individual murals. If the mural was to be connected, it would be over 365 meters wide (4 football fields) and 2.5 meters high (8 feet).

Each province and territory will have only 5-15 communities represented. Fort St. John is one of the few communities selected in B.C.

The workshop has stopped in Fort St. John for October 25th, 26th and 27th. Public workshops take place in the evening from 5:00 to 6:30 pm or 6:30 to 8:00 pm.

If you would like to participate in the last sessions tonight, RSVP to Lisa Rowbotham, Community Development Coordinator at lrowbotham@fortstjohn.ca or call 250.787.5791.

All supplies are included so you just need to bring yourself if you would like to be apart of history.
