FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – The LB Energy Predators regional female hockey team hosted the Fairview Campbell Cruisers last weekend for a pair of games at the Pomeroy Sports Centre.
The club went into the first game on Saturday afternoon with a strong start. After going up 1-0 in the first, Hayley Stephens and Madison Fell scored a pair of goals through the second period to give the Predators a 3-0 lead. Stephens herself assisted Fell, while Tianna Patmore also notched a helper. Though Fairview managed to find the back of the LB Energy Predators’ net midway through the third, Jaycee Bird regained the three-goal lead for the Predators, who won the game 4-1.
Heading back onto the ice on Sunday, the Predators didn’t have quite as much gas in the tank as they did on Saturday. Fairview took an early 1-0 lead in the first, before Coralynn Nichol, Danielle Christie, and Hayley Stephens scored a trio of goals, two of them less than 2 minutes apart in the second to give the Preds a 3-1 lead. Hannah Piket tallied a pair of assists, while Christie and Jordyn Larson each tallied one. In the third period, the Preds let their guard down and allowed Fairview to score four unanswered goals to take the win 5-3.
The LB Energy Predators are next in action on Saturday, November 12th when they play against the North Peace Eagles. The game is set to take place at the North Peace Arena at 4:45.
