UPDATED: Prince George RCMP looking for overdue hiker

Update: Victor Gustafson has been found safe.

PRINCE GEORGE, B.C. – Police in Prince George are asking for help in locating a hiker that didn’t return home last night.

At around 10:30 pm on October 10th, RCMP received a report of an overdue hiker. 57 year-old Victor Gustafson is described as:

·       Caucasian male.

·       183 cm (6’0″)

·       113 kg (249 lbs)

·       Greying brown hair with a beard.

·       Last seen wearing a green & black toque, grey jacket and dark blue ski pants.

It is currently unknown where Gustafson was hiking but police believe he could have been east of Prince George near the Wansa Creek Forest Service Road, Beaver Forest Service Road and the Willow River Rest area.

Prince George Search and Rescue have been called in and have assisted police in searching rural areas throughout last night. The search is expected to continue this morning.

Gustafson was driving a blue 2002 Volkswagen Jetta with BC licence plate 079TWE and was accompanied by his dog.
