OTTAWA – Local MP Bob Zimmer is welcoming the announcement of the Woodfibre LNG project developments.

Zimmer hopes that this will be the first of many LNG projects in the province. The project is expected to create 650 construction jobs and 100 permanent operating jobs.

“It comes at a time, when it appears there’s reason to hope the global energy industry is finally beginning to slowly emerge from an economic downturn that has resulted in major problems across western Canada — including Northeast B.C.”

Zimmer is also happy with announcement reports that suggest the boat access only plant has moved closer to being completed with First Nations support.
