Grande Prairie RCMP arrest teens with stolen smokes


GRANDE PRAIRIE, A.B. – Police in Grande Prairie have recovered a large quantity of cigarettes after they were stolen from a convenience store.

On November 23rd at approximately 1:15 a.m., two youths entered a convenience store near 108 Street and 68 Avenue in Grande Prairie wearing disguises. Once inside, the pair proceeded to steal a large quantity of cigarettes and tobacco products worth in excess of $1000 before fleeing the area on foot.

The RCMP quickly located and arrested the two male suspects, who still had the stolen tobacco products in their possession. The pair are facing charges of Theft under $5000 and Wearing a disguise with intent. In addition, the two minors were also issued provincial fines for being in possession of tobacco products.

The two youths were released and will appear in youth court at a later date.
