FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – The Northeast BC Resource Municipalities Coalition Fall Forum is getting underway this afternoon in Fort St. John and Taylor.

Coalition Executive Director Colin Griffith says that the forum kicked off this afternoon with their first workshop. Hosted by UNBC’s Cumulative Impacts Research Consortium, the workshop at the Pomeroy Hotel looked at the all aspects of resource development from all sectors of the economy in Northeastern BC. Griffith said that the workshop featured perspectives on development from all angles, including that of First Nations, businesses, and communities. Griffith says that the theme of the workshop sets the tone for the rest of the Fall Forum, which will take place at the Taylor Community Hall on Wednesday and Thursday.

The Fall Forum is open to the public. Registration takes place tonight at the Pomeroy Hotel at 6:00 p.m. ahead of the Welcome Reception featuring guest speakers from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The forum will kick off tomorrow morning at 8:00 at the Taylor Community Hall.
