Zimmer recognises Landucci’s community volunteer work in House of Commons

OTTAWA, O.N. – Prince George-Peace River-Northern Rockies MP Bob Zimmer spoke in the House of Commons today, recognising the contributions of Mike Landucci.

“In recognition of his long-time volunteer service to the Fort St. John sports community, the Fort St. John Senior Flyers Hockey Club recently honoured his memory at a pre-season North Peace Hockey League game against the Dawson Creek Canucks. North Peace referees are honouring Mike this year by wearing the ML patch I am wearing today,” said MP Zimmer as he referred to the crest on his jacket. “As one of our community volunteers, as a neighbor and as a friend to all you encountered, not to mention the Christmas Eve visits to our house as Santa Clause, you will be missed. May you Rest in Peace Mike.”

Mike Landucci was a longtime volunteer with the Fort St. John hockey and softball communities. He was the Referee in Chief for the entire Peace Region for a number of years, and was recognized by the Fort St. John Flyers on October 21st with a plaque at the North Peace Arena. This season, referees in Fort St. John will be wearing the ML patch on their right shoulders in honour of Mike’s contributions as R.I.C.
