FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – The Fort St. John Northern Metalic Bantam Flyers didn’t have the same problems as the Trackers, and hosted the St. Albert Comets for a pair of games.

On Friday night, the Comets managed to strike first just before the halfway mark of the first period. The Bantam Flyers were sluggish to get out of the gates until the second period. St. Albert scored their second goal five minutes into the second act, but Noah Lang replied for Fort St. John less than a minute later, assisted by Duncan Ross and James Kitney. St. Albert scored another pair of goals in the last ten minutes to take a 4-1 lead after forty minutes.

In the third, Kurtis Lee scored on the power play at the halfway mark assisted by Lang and John Herrington to cut the lead to 4-2. With 3:24 left to play, Lang scored his second of the game assisted by Henry Kehl. Thirty seconds later, Ross was the game’s hero, tying it up with 2:51 on the clock on a feed from Herrington and Lee. Friday night’s game ended as a 4-4 draw.

On Saturday afternoon, it was the Flyers that got out of the gates first while St. Albert struggled. James Kitney scored the first period’s lone goal assisted by Noah Lang and Nathan Brownlee. The Bantam Flyers took a commanding lead in the second period. John Herrington scored a pair of goals, one of which was with the man advantage. Herrington also assisted on what would inevitably be the game winner, scored on the power play by Hunter Brown.

While the Comets would finally wake up in the third period to score a pair of goals, Owen Floriant make a pair of passes to Noah Lang, who also added a pair to help the Flyers to a 6-2 victory.
