FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – An early morning incident on the Taylor Bridge has destroyed a section of the guardrail.

Details about the incident have not been released by the RCMP, but according to eyewitnesses, a vehicle was seen on the bridge sometime before 5 a.m. Saturday.  The vehicle was damaged and parts from the vehicle were all over the bridge deck.

There is no official information about exactly what happened and there is no information if the incident caused anyone to be injured.

As of now, YRB will work to repair damage to the Bridge.  Motorists are advised to slow down when crossing the bridge.  The sidewalk on the same side as the damage has also been closed.

As of Saturday afternoon, the Bridge is still open to single lane alternating traffic and pilot car controlled.
