FAIRVIEW, A.B. – Police in Fairview are on the lookout for a suspect after an armed home invasion on Tuesday night.

On December 13th at approximately 6:30 p.m., the Fairview RCMP responded to a report of an armed man entering a rural residence east of the Hamlet of Bluesky, which is roughly 130 kilometres north of Grande Prairie.

The man allegedly entered the home and brandished a firearm at the homeowner, demanding the keys to their vehicle. The homeowner complied and was uninjured, while the suspect fled in the resident’s vehicle. The suspect is described as First Nations with a tall stature, and was wearing a blue jacket with a red hat.

The stolen vehicle was located abandoned a short time later by Peace Regional RCMP near the Hamlet of Brownvale, roughly thirty kilometres north of Bluesky.
