FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – Police in Fort St. John are investigating a shooting that appears to have been targeted.

This morning at around 7:55 a.m. MST, Fort St. John RCMP responded to a report of a shooting in the 11000 block of the 269 Road, just north of the city.

Police say multiple officers attended the scene and located a 47-year-old man suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim was taken to hospital and is in stable condition.

The investigation is still in the early stages and no further details will be released at this time in order to protect the integrity of the investigation. Police also say there is no current risk to the public.
