GRANDE PRAIRIE, AB – Police in Grande Prairie have charged a youth with one count of manslaughter.

The charge stems from the death of a Grande Prairie man during an incident which occurred earlier this week on Wednesday.

The RCMP’s investigation was led by its Major Crimes Unit from Edmonton, with assistance from the Grande Prairie RCMP Detachment’s General Investigation Section and Grande Prairie Forensic Identification Section.

Police say they can confirm that this was not a random incident and they aren’t seeking any other individuals in the case.

RCMP will not release the name of the youth per the Youth Criminal Justice Act or release the name of the victim in order to protect the identity of the accused.
