GRANDE PRAIRIE, A.B. – Police in Grande Prairie are investigating after a suspected homicide in the Swan City.

At approximately 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, the Grande Prairie RCMP responded to a report of an injured man at a home. The male was taken to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries a short time later. His name has not been released.

The RCMP’s Major Crime Unit has taken charge of the investigation, and believe that the man’s death could have been the result of a homicide. Police have one suspect in custody, although no charges have been laid.

Police believe this was not a random act, and that there is no risk to the public’s safety.

The RCMP’s investigation is ongoing, and additional details are not available at this time.
